On Saturday 14th March, we were delighted to welcome back 50 Old Edwardians from both KES and KEHS as they celebrated 40 years since leaving school. The evening was filled with shared memories, nostalgia, and plenty of catching up. As a group that usually hosts their reunion away from school, it was a delight to have them choose to return to school this year and equally rewarding to support them in creating a reunion that truly reflected what they wanted.
The event began with a joint welcome reception in the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, where guests enjoyed time to reconnect and reminisce about their school days. A carefully curated 1980s playlist set the backdrop for the evening, though music was soon overtaken by the buzz of laughter and conversation. We also took the opportunity to capture a year group photo, a task that proved to be a fun challenge as everyone was keen to continue their chats!
Following the reception, guests made their way to the boys’ Dining Hall for a delicious three-course dinner. With guests seated in their friendship groups, it was wonderful to see how everyone mingled and how those who have not seen each other in 40 years pick up right where they left off.
The reunion concluded with a relaxed closing reception back in the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, giving guests a final chance to continue their conversations and round off a memorable evening. We were thrilled to welcome everyone back to school and look forward to seeing them again at the next reunion in ten years’ time!
