Tolkien Lecture Series 2019
Tolkien Lecture: Mark Damazer
On Wednesday 27th November the Ninth instalment of the Tolkien Lecture, was given by Mark Damazer CBE
Mark was Master of St Peter's College, Oxford from 2010 to 2019, Controller of BBC Radio 4 and Radio 4 Extra from 2004-2010 and the Deputy Director of BBC News from 2001-2004. Mark was also the Senior Non-Executive Trustee at the V&A Museum, and a Trustee of the BBC from 2015 to 2017. The lecture is titled Public Service Broadcasting in a Liberal Society
The lecture will commence at 7pm on Wednesday 27th November in the Ruddock Hall, followed by drinks in the Performing Arts Centre foyer. As with all Tolkien Lectures, the event is free and open to the whole school community. We are extremely grateful to the Old Edwardians Association, Parents Association and The Tolkien Trust for its ongoing and visionary support.
