Treecycling for Birmingham St Mary's Hospice

15 December 2021

It's fast approaching that time of year again when Christmas will be upon us - and then it's time to go Treecycling!

Our hugely successful fundraising, community and environmental service has raised almost £375,000 over 10 years by collecting and recycling used Christmas trees into biomass fuel.

Last year alone we collected 5,000 trees with the help of nearly 200 volunteers and 90 vehicles. It saves individual trips to the tip and raised over £106,000 towards the care of patients with life limiting illnesses, and their families, in Birmingham and Sandwell.

We operate across North East, South and West Birmingham and Solihull with online collection booking and donation available on the Birmingham St Mary's website.

The campaign keeps on getting bigger and better, so it relies on its volunteers more and more every year and, as ever, we are welcoming willing hands to help with the collection in Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield and Solihull. It's a great way to get involved in a great cause, and to do something different in the New Year. If you can help, please email: treecycling@birminghamhospice.org.uk

If you don't live in our area, don't despair, as hospices all over the UK go treecycling, and you may well find a hospice near you to take your tree.
