Nick Hockley appointed CEO of Cricket Australia

19 July 2021

Nick Hockley (1993) has been appointed as Cricket Australia's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after nearly 11 months in the role on an interim basis.

In May, Cricket Australia announced Nick as their permanent CEO, making him the first Englishman to take on this position. Nick had been serving in the role since last June, during which he oversaw the conduct of the high-profile tour by India amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nick, who is a chartered accountant by profession, previously held roles leading the T20 World Cup 2020 Local Organising Committee, and at the 2015 Cricket World Cup and London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

On his new appointment, Nick said: "I am honoured to have taken on the permanent role as Cricket Australia's CEO. Cricket is Australia's national sport and I'm committed to doing all I can to making a positive contribution to the game and the community."

Many congratulations to Nick, we wish him the best of luck in his new role.
