Class of 2010 - the Golden Generation
Class of 2010 - the golden generation of KES. We revolutionised things around KES. And did it with style.
Record GCSE, AS and A level results which won't be beaten for some time but, academic work aside, socially we were sensational.
Senior Hairspray production, yes a combined effort from 3 years but it was the best performance for a LONG time. Inter P.E group football competition on the last day before easter for the 6th formers. Cars, booze, ice cream, sunshine, girls and the prospect of a session at the Gun Barrels after made for an amazing event. Again, the first of its kind. Needless to say the Chief wasn't happy when driving the car with people jumping on it, booze, girls and cigarettes...he wasnt best pleased, but we were!
Then there's the fancy dress. Last non school uniform day ever we decided to come in fancy dress but we did it with STYLE. The girls did it first, but it was a poor effort. We made it our own. We had younger kinds saying, "When I'm in the Sixth Form I'm going to come as a gorilla or as the joker".
We then had the first ever house football. Admittedly it didn't affect house standings at all, but the Chief brought us goals, made a five a side pitch for us and let us play there in the evening whilst having a bbq. What a legend. He THEN let us sleep over on the South Field, on the night before the last day EVER at King Edward's School. This helped with the school prank of painting the walls of the music school.
An absolutely amazing year group. Best seven years we could have ever wanted.
