Bruce Hurn's homework folder
Bruce Hurn (1926-2020) was Head of Art at King Edward's School from 1947 to 1973. Bruce kept a personal collection of what he considered to be the best work done by boys as art homework. This "homework folder" has now been donated by the Hurn family to the KES Archive.
The artwork has been digitised by Chris Eckersley (1970) and can be viewed online in the homework folder gallery.
If you recognise any of the artwork as being yours and would like to identify yourself and tell the story behind the art, please contact the Foundation Archivist, Charlotte Gallant, via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Below you can hear a clip of Bruce talking about why he thought it was important to introduce art homework.
