Report

It was great to see 11 former pupils from 1940-44 return to King Edward's for this reunion. The attendees included one old boy, George Watts, who started his time at the school in the original New Street building. The day started with tea and coffee in the staff common room and a welcome from the Development Director. This was followed by a school lunch in the School Dining Hall. After a quick group photo there was a tour around the school which included a look at the chapel, library and big school as well as a quick demonstration of the catapault by the living history group. We then went to the Chief Master's study to meet the Foundation Archivist, Alison Wheatley, and to see some of the KES archive material at first hand. Finally the group enjoyed some well earned tea and cake and a talk from John Claughton. Then it was time to go and everyone headed back up the drive full of renewed friendships and memories.
