Congratulations to John Fern, Deputy Head (Academic), who will become Headmaster of Royal Grammar School, Newcastle in September 2017.  

Lifetime Achievement Award for John Claughton

Research into the impact of Assisted Places

King Edward's School entranceResearch into the long-term impact of Assisted Places on the academic achievements and life opportunities of Old Edwardians who benefited from a free place is being conducted by maths teacher Peter Ollis, as part of his PhD. Read more about Peter's research.  

Maths Challenge team scores place in Nationals

Maths Challenge team King Edward's School is through to the National Final of the Senior Team Maths Challenge for the third year running, having won the competition the last two years. Read about the success of this year's team so far.
