Golden and Diamond Anniversary Reunion: class of 1954 and 1964

Asked 'How do you think the school has changed since your time at King Edward's?' Martin Reddy (1964) - pictured fourth from the right in the group picure above - said: 

I don’t think the school has changed much apart from the facilities which have been updated tremendously. It is still a friendly school which concentrates on developing the boys as whole people rather than just academics. Maybe in my day those that were not in the top flight academically were rather pushed to one side but I don’t feel that is the case now. Of course the major changes are the ethnic make up of the intake and the fact that for drama and music the girl’s school are involved. In my day Juliet would have been played by a boy. But all things considered it is still the BEST in Birmingham.
